We are incredibly grateful to our partners, funders and supporters who have helped to raise money over the last twelve months to continue the work we do supporting those living with secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. Fundraising Manager, Lianne, highlights some of the activity we've seen in 2024.
We are very thankful to everyone that has helped to fundraise for Make 2nds Count this year and the incredible lengths they have gone to do it! We've seen our community fundraisers take part in cold water swimming and head shaves, casino nights and singing their hearts out at massaoke!
These are just some of the incredible fundraising activities our community have been involved in this year:
January - Jemma Campbell raised £2,928.00 by hosting a charity evening
February - Our 2k a Day challenge took part with supporters clocking up their steps through swims, runs, walks and cycling raising £2,707.25
March - Four dare-devils took part in the 1,00ft Falkirk Wheel Abseil raising £1,735
April - our London Marathon runners raised £7,464 and 15 people taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk raised £3,245
May - Our Edinburgh Marathon Festival team raised £10,856 and the first 'Love Your Tribe' lunch event took place in Manchester, raising £4,180
June - One family took part in the Lake District Ultra Challenge in memory of their sister and raised over £2,500
July - The New Inn Alphington organised a fundraising evening with their locals and raised £1,601
August - Saw one amazing supporter taking part in a 215 mile race across Scotland raising £2,858
September - A very busy fundraising month! The Great North Run team raised £3,215, Charlie McAdams Rugby Cup fundraiser brought in £2,949.12 and the Belfast 'Love Your Tribe' Casino evening raised an amazing £7,557.
October - Ronan Mitchell took on the the Dublin Marathon and raised £7,750. Karen Leeson from our community shaved her head raising £510.
November - The Women's Collective raised over £18,600 at their 'Gothic Glam Ladies Lunch' and our Massaoke event in Glasgow raised over £9,000.
December - Children from Wallace Hall Primary School took part in a Jingle Jog raising over £1,000.
With the addition to our team of Ruth as Corporate Partnership Manager in May, we have been delighted to start a new charity partnership with beauty experts LAB FACTOR and develop new relationships with Fox Begin and Nephew & Smith. We are thrilled to continue our valuable partnerships with Pinsent Mason, Little Greene and Jennifer Young, as well as have been chosen as the charity partner for the BIG Boobee Campaign alongside Prevent Breast Cancer.
