Giving hope to those affected
by secondary breast cancer
We published research in October with YouGov - 38% of the adult population in the UK don't know what secondary breast cancer is.
This highlights the massive gap in awareness and education of secondary breast cancer and the work that needs done to change this.
In 2020-21 we developed a new signs and symptoms infographic which is now gender neutral. This was the starting point for our ever expanding education programme. 
This year for October Breast Cancer Awareness month we launched #fightingtobeheard and engaged widely with SBC&ME where patients talk about their diagnosis and how secondary breast cancer impacts their lives. You will be seeing a lot more of both next year.
We’ve also built existing and new partnerships during the year and we’re looking forward to more projects and conversations next year.
As we look to 2022, education will continue to be an integral part in everything that we do at Make 2nds Count. We hope to get started with Maggies to host in person meetings delayed due to Covid. We will also be exhibiting at the Scottish Parliament with patients and the Patient Trial Advocate team. More news on this UK first service for SBC patients in the new year.
