How does secondary breast cancer affect your life?
In lots of ways my cancer journey has enriched my life, making sure I enjoy and savour every moment with my incredible family and friends. Also noticing the little things in life that I possibly wouldn’t have noticed before.
But also I have moments of despair, when I see the effect that this awful disease has had on my loved ones. There are times when I feel really ill and a few when I’m feeling down and sorry for myself.
But I want as my legacy, to allow people to see that it’s possible to lead a wonderful life, even with this disease.
What advice would you give to someone newly diagnosed?
To try and be as open and honest with those close to you. To not shut your loved ones out.
To not try and go it alone. To get all the advice and help available
